Media bias is reflected in more than just words. Some Photo Editors intentionally chose a supremely unflattering photos to make the subject appear a particular way - stupid, angry, silly. etc. This form of bias can be more damaging than words in our image-driven world.
Unprofessional, biased reporters undermine the work of their peers and colleagues and the trust of the people they serve. Biased journalists are the biggest threat to media credibility and freedom of thought and informed discussion. Selfish, narrow-minded agendas are the end of an effective press.
George Washington and the other delegates of the Constitutional Convention (1787) designated 'Freedom of the Press' essential the fabric of American culture and values. That freedom was given to ensure the pursuit of truth would never be vanquished or suppressed. When the press are responsible for the suppression or destruction of truth, the fundamental freedom has been violated at the highest level.
